HAUNTED AMERICA RETURNS TO ALTON, IL!
According to legend, author Mark Twain once called Alton a "dismal little river town," largely thanks to the dark history that the city had already endured prior to its heyday as a thriving river port. Over the last two centuries, Alton has seen more than its share of death, disaster, violence, murder, and even the mayhem of the Civil War. Those events have left a permanent impression on this little town, earning it a reputation as one of the most haunted small towns in America. In 2025, the Haunted America Conference returns to Alton -- the perfect setting for 28 years of America’s Original Ghost Conference! For generations, Alton has had a history of ghostly sightings, eerie events, and unexplained encounters -- often during our annual conference. Join us this year when you can experience the many hauntings of Alton, Illinois, for yourself!

We’ll be continuing our phenomenal events at the Lewis and Clark College campus in nearby Godfrey, Illinois, in 2026!! With professional audio and video, spacious seating, a unique “Vendor Hall,” and lots more space, this is a fantastic location for the event! We hope to see you back at this location for another great year!

Worried that there won’t be drinks for this year’s event? We have you covered! Thanks to catering from Bella Milano, a cash bar will be located in the main room all weekend, offering soda and bottled water, along with beer, wine, and cocktails during prime hours. The more you drink, the better the conference is… just kidding! But we’ll definitely have refreshments on site, plus food trucks will be back, so there’s no need to leave campus for dinner or lunch on Friday and Saturday!
